The Chess Board is an isolated area reached by going through the Hands Room. A particular piece of interest is the two queens that are north of the checkered heart on the floor. Pass between the queens and continue heading north to find a door, players of Yume Nikki will recognize what's behind it. Once you've visited this room and have turned the board black, you are on your way to finding Shinjitsuki.
This looks familiar.
The area has a small chance of having a black background, decided upon entering. If that's the case, passing through the queens leads you to the Proto effect.
Trivia[]
- In older versions, walking on certain pieces would switch the background from white to black and vice versa. The board could also be turned black by walking between a certain pair of columns. This method was supposedly a bug and has been removed.
